Drastic Measure

For the last week, I have tried to not have any sugar other than what is in a small portion of fruit once a day. There may have been trace amounts in something because I didn't know about it. I decided to try it for a while and see what happens. I have been having smoothies for breakfast (love them,) or a piece of fruit, 4 oz. of lean protein with steamed or raw vegetables for lunch, and most days, the same thing for supper. I have so much more energy and my clothes are looser after just a week! I accomplished a lot today, which is extremely unusual for a Monday. I have lessons from 3-7 and by the time we have supper and clean up, I'm ready to call it a day. There have been two rooms in our house that still had boxes to be sorted through and unpacked. I have been walking by those rooms, looking in, sighing, and closing the door. I worked on both today. I'm not done, but will be done sometime this week. I'm also planning to tackle painting this week. Why is it always so hard to take the first step, when making drastic changes to eating or exercise? Once you get into a routine, it's usually not really that bad. I just had to muster the motivation to "flip the switch." I'm feeling great right now, but will go to bed so I can get up in the morning.

  1. Sugar is my downfall. When I did the low-carb diet with Dan, though, after a few weeks, I didn't miss it. And, then, when I did have something sweet, it tasted extraordinarily sweet. I should really try it again...Good job, Sara! Stick with it!
